Basel – Part 3
a SELECTIF SMS Chat
Sunday in Basel. Slightly hangovered but nevertheless willing to see more of the whole art fair event, Bijou enters the LISTE building. Her brain is all tangled up in confusion about the right thing to wear for the mixture of rain, sun and wind. Since Laphora is still home and busy with other projects, she decides to write her text messages. Too bad that Laphora has this old mobile without any features besides text and phone. Anyway, Bijou starts writing.
Laphora, this building is sick. It has this labyrinthine architecture. That alone gives me a headache but what’s really killing me is the Bratwurst smell everywhere. This swiss consciousness in tradition makes me kinda nervous, there are at least 5 different kinds of this hard smelling Bratwursts.
Bratwurst? Vegan? Like the KAYA-Graffiti-Würste? Or the Bratwurst with nice color gradiation like Cornelia Baltes? Details, please. I just arrived in Kassel, have a presentation here tomorrow. Everybody’s crazy about the dOCUMENTA. Adam here, Adam there. He got awesome dancing skills – haven’t seen them personally but listened to many descriptions. Must be somewhere in between contemporary, postmodern, old school and midnight apocalypse.
documenta, ah – makes me think of Isa Genzken. No, this was the Venice Biennial – ages ago. I’ve seen her show in Berlin. Must see. Just visited „Window Seats“ by Yngve Holen at the Kunsthalle (his biggest institutional solo show so far). Did you know that they both, Yngve & Isa, reflect upon boing windows? best canvas ☐☐ ever!!!
Sounds fun. After the whole Anne Imhof experience last night I was quite down… …but our Catherine Binocca pics make me happy again. Love those lacquer scratchings. thanks XXX (…& love your style, nice skirt)
Your smileys arrive here as empty squares (sounds like a bad Malewitsch joke, which it isn’t) , I have no smartphone, remember @:D
2headed person by Andrea Crespo !! (^-^)/(^-^)
<3 Shana Maulton <3 Alex Vivian B: 13:34 Now I’m @ Parcours (art in public space ... the city’s so empty on this sunday). I visit the museum of natural history. 2 videos by Trisha Baga on display. Behind whale skeletons we put on aerodynamic 3D-glasses & sink deep into the dark pillows. Walls are covered with some soft textile – very cosy. This video feels like being in an aquarium, underwater scenes. L: 15:56 Hallo from the hot baths landscape in Baden Baden. No mobiles allowed but I had to text you. Here I have my own private underwater scenes. I already made 3 infusions (rosemary, ice cubes and salted honey). hbu? B: 16:00 Missed the finissage of that gang from Kunstraum Klingental , but spent my last Swiss Francs on a le petit marseillais shower gel. Now, I'll work on my own stuff before heading to the airport. L: 16:50 Ok. Miss you. Sent you this photo we made in spring. B: 16:52 Miss you too. ciaociao. ciao basel.
