Phile Magazine is pleased to announced the launch of their inaugural issue this July. Phile Magazine is a biannual publication which investigates sexual subcultures, trends and practices from a sociological point of view. By researching theories and practices of modern sexuality, Phile aims to gain insight into the complexities of human desires, and to further understand how members of sexual communities create space to explore their truest impulses.
Created by Erin Reznick and Michael Feswick, Phile Magazine is based between Berlin, Toronto and New York City, three cities which have rich queer and sexual histories. Phile aims to encourage a more empathetic understanding towards those who live outside of normative societal structures.
The Phile team writes about themes that interest them, with a strong intention to highlight a diversity of perspectives. Their stories come from within varying communities that range in sexuality, identity, ethnicity and religion. Their first issue features a variety of themes; from Korean food porn, to ecosexuality, to the models of the gay porn industry. Phile respects the intelligence of their readers by providing challenging material while still maintaining an approachable appeal through photo essays, interviews, creative writing and light hearted lifestyle segments.
Issue One will be launched this July and will be distributed across North America and Western Europe. Issue One contributors include:
