Studioraum 45cbm of Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden is pleased to present the first institutional solo exhibition by Alice Peragine in Baden-Württemberg. In response to the current situation, Alice Peragine sets up “Auto Body Repair “in remote control". They keep the exhibition space, deliberately provisional, referring to the current insecurity, physical fragility and to technologies and materials that promise protection. Covered by construction foil, sparsely held together by Kinesio-Tape, Peragine presents new videos. They show bodily and technological fragments (originally created for the cancelled opening performance) in mutual dependencies to each other: How do they become similar? Where do they provide mutual support? Where do they deny each other? A multimedia document, produced in cooperation with graphic designer Lena Thomaka, is an additional and essential extension of Peragine’s exhibition. It is a digital reference exploring new forms of accessibility in times of "physical distancing". The PDF is available for download. “Auto Body Repair [in remote control]” invites to decelerate thinkings of our own entanglements in current dependencies, to trace their material, psychological and social consequences, but also to discover resources for (self-)care and emancipatory action.

Alice Peragine Auto Body Repair [in remote control] Studioraum 45cbm, Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden May 29 – July 26, 2020 Studioraum 45cbm of Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden is pleased to present the first institutional solo exhibition by Alice Peragine in Baden-Württemberg.
