Romain Vicari’s work revolves around the concepts of space and architecture. Inspired by construction materials, matters, and scales, Vicari’s work links and sublimes the conflictual relation between body and space, private and public. This reflexion was born at the artist’s workshop as well as on the streets, public places or abandoned sites, which are often invaded by anarchic vegetation. Ro- main’s analysis of the spaces is almost scientific, his work transcribes both botanic and anthropology related themes. Romain’s production is an ephemeral laboratory of research. The physical proximity of the transformed space in tension with a hybrid element formed by Romain’s tropical/urban modernity.
