Galerie Der Stadt Fellbach is happy to present Adam Kaplan’s first solo exhibition in Germany - “Anger is a Punishment We Give Ourselves For The Mistakes Of Others”. Following Kaplan’s ongoing artistic research on how contemporary moments are transforming into past memories, the exhibition is a shelter home for awkward yet emphatic images that try to survive the digital shift of the last decades. It derives from the aesthetic and poetic world of youth institutions and public spaces - wall decorations from both office cubicles and elementary schools. It is an attempt to create images that contain a high nostalgic weight of an ambiguous time and origin - Wall carpets, laminated photos of office devices, bouncing balls, cute plush letters and overgrown dancing flowers.
