Lunatika is the first of a trilogy of tale-exhibitions co-curated by Alessia Baranello and Arianna Tremolanti. Seven artists (Sofia Bordin, Ginevra Collini, Bianca D'Ascanio, Eleonora Del Bene, Andrea Lo Giudice, Bea Roggero Fossati, Lorenzo Silvestri) were asked to reflect on notions of solidarity and communality, trying to define new ways of living in capitalist ruins.Text

In that brief moment the world seemed to stand still, waiting. There was utter silence. The men of Umuofia were merged into the mute backcloth of trees and giant creepers, waiting. The spell was broken by the head messenger. "Let me pass!" he ordered." What do you want here?" "The white man whose power you know too well has ordered this meeting to stop”». Chinua Achebe, Things collapse. Pieces of Moon have been seen meteoritically falling over Monte dei Cocci in Testaccio district, Rome. Locals tell of a group of mischievous hybrid creatures invading the streets after sunset to steal the fallen fragments and then stealthily, escaping to the adjacent slaughterhouse. Seven artists went in search of their traces… It came out that the community only appears in the nights of Full Moon of the Worm that pushes worms and other creatures to emerge from the underground to celebrate the beginning of Spring. The creatures have always flocked to the Lunatic tavern to plan underground mud-revolutions and having lunar-bread dinners. But one evening, during a communal dinner, something goes wrong. If until now they had been allowed to flourish as a self-sufficient community thanks to the distance from the human gaze, our interference has destroyed their practices based on sharing resources. Lunatika is a tale-exhibition divided in three acts, where the exhibition display changes according to the progress of the fairytale and the public's intervention.
