Text

Through Optotype, we become juxtaposed with the emblematic. What is to be recognized needs to be restructured into a finely woven network of characters, holes and spaces through the interplay of overlay and white space. The task: to grasp sharply in order to be able to read. There is always the possibility of remaining on the smooth surface of the emblem. In an approximating conversation, circling each other, the positions maneuver between wide-angle and close-up – sometimes directly, sometimes across corners. They want to establish contact while being obliged to use their own language. In order to read correctly, there is a need for different perspectives, a balance between distance and closeness and an unconditional look that aims to develop its own reading.
