Text

13 Vitrine is pleased to present Tell me where to go to see the mountains by Daniel Carnevale. Sun, moon, mountains, trees, forests, waterways, are components of written and spoken language. Daniel Carnevale's landscape paintings challenge our aptitude in affirming the prior statement is solely true. The paintings, in their presentation of natural landforms reduced to starkly composed shapes, urge on being a vocabulary that we speak but aren't fluent in. Intuitively composed whole images are the sum of their parts, visual things and we admire the approach. These simplified rendered paintings reset our spatial awareness and hastily become an entry in the charming side of our visual content dictionary. 13 Vitrine is a curatorial project initiated by artists Stefania Carlotti and Margaux Dewarrat in a vitrine based inside an old presbytery garden, situated at the house of l'avenue du 1er Mai 13 in Renens, CH.
