A graduation project by Algirdas Jakas at HFBK Hamburg. Hypochondriacal cabinet installation for digging oneself out.

Algirdas Jakas, Worry Bone, 2022
Drawings, fused together with bony structures appear like hybrid instruments, “stands” for diagnosis, which at the same time become tools for digging or drilling oneself out.
Bright blots pulse through the images in unknown epithelial locations, forcing kneading and crumpling on almost every part of the body.
Anxiety mingles with hypochondria and the wavy, segmented backbones, like some sort of psychogeological samples, call for a closer inspection as if they were just extracted from the spots of greatest concern.
Polymer clay, drawing, epoxy resin, lead

The project is part of the HFBK Hamburg Annual Exhibition, taking place on February 11-13, 2022.
