Rewriting The Rules

The exhibition is an attempt to portray a hybrid community living with an awareness of failure, questioning the significance of the sources of contemporary perception and the principles passed down through generations. Can failure bring about change? Does deconstruction lead to subsequent reconstruction or the creation of an entirely different reality? Drawing on methodologies drawn from the sciences and archaeology, as well as referring to human fetishes, aspirations and the experience of everyday life, young artists working in various media and from different countries seek to answer the question of the status of humanity and the place of humans in the context of social dynamics, technology and political change – both as individuals and as an interdependent society, a global village.
