A stunt is an extreme form of physical activity that requires precise, technical training. According to Frédéric Chopin, “an étude is a musical composition of considerable difficulty, designed to provide practice material for an instrument and its player. Musical form and stunt actions alike here become teaching tools for the bodies on site – those of the performers and musicians as well as their respective instruments. Yet, they are designed to “always please the audience in concert.”

The performance takes place on the parking lot next to a former paper mill which will be demolished this summer. One of the oldest building complexes in the area, the historic brick building from the 1790s will be replaced by yet another block of high- priced office and residential buildings that now shape the area. Besides this, the venue holds various personal memories for DISAPPEARING BERLIN. Until 2018, the Schinkel Pavillon studio and multiple other artist studios were located here. Further, in the summer of 2019, one of the first DISAPPEARING BERLIN performances with Young Boy Dancing Group transformed the sand hills of the neighboring construction site into an apocalyptic performance ground.
