Tiemann’s sculptures are about form, materiality, and color. Her sculptures Couples bring together two different elements in two unequal materialities. Each sculpture consists of a ceramic part and a part made of papier mâché. The two elements nestle up against each other but do concurrently show gaps and thus distance, generated through Tiemann’s working process.
