Where do the inside end and the outside begin?
And where is this border? Or is it a threshold, a space of potential?
The skin with its layers is a metaphor, the transitional membrane where the human perceptions get tangible by leaving behind mere thinking.
With the skin, you touch the world – its semi-permeability allows you both to exude and absorb.
The threshold is a non-place where categories mingle.
It is a condition in which you cannot enter or even exit but only cross.
Categories are structures meant to organise experience and knowledge.
Yet, they should not be regarded as static but rather as liquid systems that must contain within themselves the potential for renewal, just as the skin with its regenerative quality.
The artworks included in the exhibition act as materialisations of this flow, vessels where the process of encounter becomes corpo-real by unfolding a liminal space.
