Subheadline

Hello, I would like to submit my solo show MEMORY REMOVAL at The City Gallery, Wroclaw, Poland. -———————————————————— Jakub Glinski „MEMORY REMOVAL” City Gallery in Wroclaw, Poland Exhibition open from 22 April to 19 May 2022 From 21 April, the City Gallery will be filled with Jakub Glinski's art – objects, paintings and murals. All the works presented at the exhibition were designed specifically for unique Gallery interiors, and the artist created most of them on site, just before the exhibition opened. MEMORY REMOVAL exhibition, arranged for the City Gallery, is yet another display through which the artist investigates his own emotions – including the blocked ones, which can only find an outlet in the painting process. With his latest works, which were created almost entirely in the gallery space, Glinski refers to memory dysfunction problems. The artist overlaps successive layers of memories, taking inspiration from drawings and notes of his own or of the facades of buildings. Eventually he covers with paint not only canvases, but also gallery walls, creating a site specific work which is destined to disappear when the exhibition ends. Relying on feelings, impulses and accidental impressions, he tries to recall repressed memories and moments on canvas and, based on these memory scraps, to assemble his fragmented personal history into a coherent whole. However, in view of the current situation in the world and the resulting violent eruption of fear and anger, this may prove to be an extremely difficult task. best regards, Jakub Gliński
