At the local project space we show works of these outstanding and fascinating young artists. They work in a wide variety of media – from figurative and abstract painting to digital and analog experimental photography, to sculptural works, so that a great diversity of exciting artistic positions will be on display.
The works converge each other, enter into caring relationships, communicate – sometimes loudly and energetically, sometimes in careful whispers. We see two figures asleep intertwined, curious looking creatures from another world, a cautious touch and powerful, magnificent plays of colors. The artists who come together all go through different artistic creative processes, play with the materiality of their media, and yet in CONVERGENCE enter into an interflowing rhythm that invites us to immerse ourselves and lose ourselves in it.
KUNZTEN hereby launches the new project series „KUNZTEN shows“, in which twice a year ,constellations from the artistic environment of KUNZTEN are brought together in the context of a group exhibition. „KUNZTEN shows“ was designed in dialogue with the artists; the extension of our platform into physical space allows for greater visibility, as well as a new level of exchange and networking. In order to make the KUNZTEN shows accessible to a broad audience, the conceptual backgrounds, creation processes and approaches of the artists will be addressed in a digital article, accompanying the exhibitions. In the future, we will use our digital expertise even more in order to merge the boundaries between the digital and analog worlds and to test innovative approaches and technologies. This will allow us to discuss the world of art in harmony with the artist and the viewer of tomorrow.
KUNZTEN is a multi-channel platform with the goal of conveying young art and culture in an informative and aesthetic way. The term KUNZTEN is a neologism composed of „KUNst“ (art) and „ZTEN – NETZ(werk)“ (network). KUNZTEN thrives on dialogue with artists, with the aim of rethinking the role of art in today‘s world and critically questioning traditional structures. Three concepts have been implemented from this dialogue so far: a series of online interviews – „An Artist Interview“, a virtual exhibition space „KUNZTRAUM“ and currently the exhibition series „KUNZTEN shows“.
Our focus is on young art of various genres – from figurative and abstract painting to experimental photography and digital art. When selecting artists, we look for a broad and diverse spectrum, ranging from aspiring university graduates to established artists at the beginning of their careers. Of particular importance to us are artistic potential and the innovative approach of the work. It is a special concern of ours to work with the artists over a longer period of time through our various projects and to support their independence and artistic development. The networking and mutual exchange between the artists is also particularly important to us.
