Mikkel Carl (1976) lives and works in Sorø/Copenhagen. He has a BA in philosophy and a MFA from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Most recently, Carl had his first solo exhibition in the public institution Kunsthal NORD, Aalborg. In 2015, he also took part in TRUST – the second iteration of Copenhagen Art Festival curated by Sonia Dermience. Mikkel Carl has shown works at Last Resort, Copenhagen; ANNAELLEGALLERY, Stockholm; Den Frie – Centre of Contemporary Art, Copenhagen; Co2 Gallery, Turin; Ana Christea Gallery, New York; Retrospective gallery, Hudson NY, among others.
Furthermore, Mikkel Carl has curated a number of group shows including Got Tortilla with Butter on Phone. Think it’s the End?, Rod Barton, London; Absence of Evil is the Evil of Absence, Residency Unlimited, New York (w/ Pedro Wirz); Some Objects are More Equal than Others, IAC (Inter Arts Center), Malmö; Lake of Fire, Den Frie – Centre of Contemporary Art, Copenhagen.
