Search for the mage. Look for magic. Today, in times of a general crisis, great narratives and systemic paths have turned out to be insufficient or simply untrue. They disappoint without answering basic questions. They try to palm us off with the rationalization of reality and a mass approach to man. On the other hand, the world is changing increasingly fast and more and more often voices can be heard that our future on Earth is at stake. That is why we are looking for other ways to define ourselves as individuals. We are looking for answers elsewhere. We are searching for the spiritual side of life that we have long forgotten; we are looking into ourselves, deepening our awareness and discovering the subconscious; we meditate, we return to the roots; we are rediscovering our own identity. Tired of meta narratives, we are looking for individual paths, even if they seem more complex, because we want to look deeper instead of getting ready-made answers. Maybe the material world is not enough for us anymore; tired of the excess, we open ourselves to the irrational, to magic... Veronica’s painting is like a window to the dreamlike world of magic. On her canvases, she gives us fragments and scraps of history which are like a link between two worlds. The images encourage looking for the magic happening around us and trying to see the invisible. The artist reveals the secret to us and guides us through this search, inspiring us to open ourselves to the spiritual and the hidden. She allows us to immerse ourselves in personal emotions, in what is elusive and fleeting, just like the artist’s airbrushed paintings – blurred at first glance as if each of the painted elements was immersed in itself. It takes attention and focus to see what Veronika wants to show us. Perhaps in the end it will turn out that this world of personal emotions and quests is, in fact, more real than the world that surrounds us.
