Text

Nural Moser’s solo exhibition Psychophysical Aggregates deals with different forms of physical and mental oppression and exploitation of the female body. Underrepresentation, assaults, violence and their caused trauma run like a red thread through cultures, ages and social structures of ongoing capitalism shaped by patriarchy. In this audio- visual Gesamtkunstwerk the sculptural works refer to a selection of violations. As diverse and far-reaching these power and violence mechanisms are, as complex and subtle is their manifestation. The exhibition’s works are not subtle, they show immediacy without covering up. Following the tools of survivors, if plain truth is unfolded, looked at, deconstructed and reflected, ways of overcoming toward female liberation can be found. In this context, the title of the exhibition hints at the Five Psychophysical Aggregates found in ancient Asian Philosophy, bringing one closer to the idea of conscious awareness and its possibilities of healing.
