Subheadline

Spaces, Solo show by Anna Bochkova At Aquarium, Vienna From 14.06.2021 to 27.06.2021 Exibition text In the project 'Spaces' Anna Bochkova examines different concepts of infrastructural landscape. Through creating a performative laboratory of non-existing conceptual places and reflecting on the personal experiences and narratives of the artist, 'Spaces' presents us an alternative angle on the process of building an archive. The vision of ‘the future artifacts’ is very subtle, it dissolves in elements which remind us water, soil or stone, then it comes back in a ceramic wire which may give you the allusion of an usb-plug, or it might be the gigantic tube of an industrial site. So, in combining abstract organic form with precise industrial landscape fantasies, Anna Bochkova creates a space between bio- and technosphere in 14 pieces of the series ‘Spaces’. Her sculptures carry the potential of being parts of zoomed in google-earch site but also they keep their dystopian nature within them.
