Ventriloquism, or voice projection, is the art of giving the impression that one is speaking from another place, person or object outside oneself, making one's voice come out of one's body. The cultural core of ventriloquism is the profoundly uncanny experience of contact with otherness, one's own unconscious, another subjectivity, religious authority, non-human entities or a yet unknown future.
The works in the exhibition do not construct a complete, unified, rational narrative, a compromise. They are points of view, feelings, visions, statements, multiplicities, they talk to each other, they persist in proximity and are silent together.
We open the exhibition by entering into a relationship with the works through sound, inviting to prance between objects, to sit, to sleep, to feel and not to search for meaning. The works remain indescribable, unsimplified, unshallowed, they are free retaining their ambiguity.
Exhibition organised by the collective Kunszt Grupa, as a collaboration between Kuba Stępień and Alek Sarna with the help of the Turnus Collective.
