The first rule of the Fight Club is: You do not talk about the Fight Club. The second rule of the Fight Club is: Donât kiss the fighters.
About the fighters:
Sabine Wewer creates mystical visual worlds that are intermixed with the real and the fictional; motifs from literature, film and music are crossed with set pieces from foreign cultures, science, the surreal and the abstract. Sabine Wewer is interested in capturing the fleeting moment of spiritual rapture and expansion of consciousness in her paintings.
Bronco Wewers work is multimedial and tells stories. His colorful, figurative practice is meant to be an exploration into the creation of a personal mythology. He creates storylines that slalom through archaic worlds and hypermodern visions in an expressive, ironic and anti-serious visual way.
Through a variety of mediums involving analog and digital drawings, 3D-scans, clay, metal, minerals and fabrics he proposes creations that bridge the gap between memory and fantasy. In the FIGHT CLUB exhibition, his current digital paintings can be seen as âPhygitalsâ.
