Approaching the Unknown shows nine artistic positions that deal with the themes of exploration, upheaval and transformation. The starting point of the exhibition are delta formations on Mars recorded by NASA. Merging into new spaces as a result of continual departures and displacements, the delta is a fundamental metaphor of the collective of the same name. In their second collaborative exhibition, the artists take the red planet, which has been the subject of fascination and research since antiquity, as an occasion to pose a series of questions about the unknown. Through their sculptural, filmic, and installation works, they address, among other things, physical forces, social structures, and the relationship between humans and nature. Thereby, processes of simulation, adaptation and speculation play a leading role. In addition to a sense of curiosity, the artistic positions have in common the belief in a gain of knowledge for the present and future reality of life resulting from an engagement with the unknown.
