Korridor presents the solo exhibition “Dungeon tongues “ by Stefan Bakmand open from 30th of september to the 30th of October 2022 With an intention to heal after his release from Binswanger's clinic In 1924, Aby Warburg created his Mnemosyne atlas, in which he mapped the memories of history in an idiosyncratic and artistic way. He examined the behavior of images in our psyche in the context of the development of history. In this exhibition I create my drawings from my own atlas, as a way to map my own psychological profile, the phenomenon of consciousness and inherent ideas of spirituality. The images I use are a mix of alchemical symbolism, biology, science, art historical references, family photos, comics and other pop cultural elements. I go down in my body, through its surface, and i release things from a subconschious realm that bounces back into the world. Like in surrealism and art brut (outsider art), I dive into subconscious imaginary landscapes reminiscent of dreams, where mythical forms and figures emerge. The various fragmentary elements become a mosaic of storytelling about the mystery of consciousness. How consciousness in our reality is a non-linear stream of images. How art and psychology coagulate, and hopefully achieve new perspectives on the state of being both inside and outside of nature. -Stefan Bakmand Korridor Rosenkreuzvej 87, Aarhus 8000 Denmark https://www.instagram.com/stefanbakmand/
