Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict
This exhibition takes its name from Pink Floyd’s song “Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict”
The song consists of several minutes of noises resembling rodents and birds simulated by George Roger Waters’ voice and other techniques, such as tapping the microphone played at different speeds, followed by Waters providing a few stanzas of spoken word in an exaggerated Scottish burr.
Through the exhibition Subtitled NYC invites five artists to create their visual worlds, through the open metaphors and potential narratives created by their use of materials and processes of their practices like what something is going on in the song.
