The Slaughtered Lamb The ‘sacred corner’, is a small worship space found in the homes of Orthodox Christians in the Slavic nations. Private devotion and liturgy become inseparable in this humble dwelling. The house acts as a temple and the centre of worship becomes the scared corner. Here, the gallery becomes the temple and the artworks presented in the exhibition form their own locus of devotion. The Slaughtered Lamb is a site for the creation of the anti-myth. An exhibition where artworks become objects of worship not for religious purpose, but for queer ecological understanding and growth. Using esoteric symbolism and medieval aesthetics, the works emit a mantra of their own, resonating on the metaphysical, physical and astral plane. The Slaughtered Lamb brings together works that resist normative interpretations of the landscape, heraldry, and contemporary art.
