Under changing conditions, we can imagine both glass and water as amorphous substances: neither solid nor liquid, but both at the same time. Their materiality is not dualistic, but all-encompassing. Fluidity between states becomes continuous, non-linear, and self-generative.
Similarly, our vision of reality can pass between solid and fluid states, and imagined worlds are neither artificial or natural, real or imaginary, here or elsewhere, but all at the same time.
Here becomes elsewhere like glass becomes water.
Hybrid states of being across possible and impossible worlds endlessly transform, stretch, and mutate. The practice of following these morphing pathways to their logical and illogical ends is known as »Otherworlding«. Through »Otherworlding« we access visions of the universe from limitless perspectives, free of any boundary.
The gates to a fluid world are opened and all is interconnected.
»Here becomes elsewhere« transforms Tadao Ando’s architecture into a stage where worlds unfold.
