Cases/Contents

The group of work „Cases/Contents“ combines the production, archiving and exhibition of images in a modular form. Elements of digital paintings printed on acrylic glass can be variably arranged within the containers, each producing new meanings. Elongated pictorial elements create intuitive references between depicted figures and objects, while other containers suggest alternative content or close themselves off completely to the viewer, marking only the possibility of content. The works move in a play of emotional and spatial proximity and distance, associative contact and clearly set affiliation. The depicted figures, blurred by their splitting into levels, elude clear identification, but allow an intuitive connection when set in relation to each other. The pictorial formations often deal with the contrast between an individual human experience and the simultaneous awareness that this exists many times over in variations and that its depiction always also becomes a representation, a stand-in for the similar.
