With Un Paradiso Amaro *Viaggio a Roma, the Austrian Cultural Forum Rome presents the artistic and curatorial research on Teresa Feodorovna Ries in Italy. A contemporary of Klimt and Schiele, she was Russian Austrian of Jewish origin artist and an internationally renowned member of the Viennese cultural scene. In 1911, Teresa Feodorowna Ries took part in the Rome International Art Exhibition, which presented the image of the Valle Giulia to this day and on whose premises the building of the Austrian Cultural Forum Rome stands today. Traveling and exhibiting is a part of the TFR Archive’s research in this particular project, where participating artists implement contemporary visual languages in a dialogue with archival and historic work. The exhibition is curated by Judith Augustinovič and Valerie Habsburg and represents a bronze sculpture ‘Saint without a Name’ by Teresa Feodorovna Ries for the first time.
