“I never left flowers between the pages of a book before I met you” is an archive that could be consulted in the form of a site-specific installation. The liminal archive is composed by writings and drawings. Objects and natural elements, also. Arranged on the evocative wooden structure in warm tones, it welcomes the gaze of patrons in the Marsaladue project room. While the overlays of unknown languages emerge in transparency, between drawings and there is no border, the signs intertwine, graphite becomes thread, and weaves routes between the fragments. Where does our gaze fall? We think of two or more bodies as strangers, and in the attempt to translate each other the typo is born, the vacuum (empty place) where imagination operates. In Flavio Pacino's creative process, we are guests in communication with one another, ending up meeting ourselves. The impossibility of understanding each other; slowly absorbed in his vocabulary, living in the space of the typo. In this condition of bewilderment (lost in translation), the words of Camille of Toledo echo: “Let's imagine, in the European Parliament, right now, today or tomorrow, in the middle of a today or tomorrow, in the middle of a session turbulent little djinns, pranksters flying from mane to mane thats flying from mane to mane, from one skull to the mane to mane, from one skull to another of our MPs, tearing off or unplugging the helmets of the simul-translation helmets. What's going on?”(1) Suddenly the signal is interrupted, any possible simultaneous translation vanishes, and a new language is born. What connections do we feel germinate? The collection selected and bagged with the organization is doing, undoing, and redoing leads to a fragmented geography, in which dialogue with the other and experience become recipes for generating other worlds.
