The tone is unnecessarily high. The windy musical. Fragments of trees and windows, cutouts, flags and textured fabrics. They range from playful approaches to intense dissections, loosening borders, tissues, and deadlocked positions. Here depictions of fantastical bodies fuse into questions about hierarchies between different species, manifestations of sexuality, and stages of social normativity. Ekstase is an exhibition and a collection of excerpts from the library of Czech painter Denisa Štefanigová. Her mesmerising works offer viewers a unique insight into the depths of human emotion and a striking visual exploration of the beauty and complexity of our world. Machatý 's Extase (1932) expands on this dissection between what we experience, carry, and ex pect. Their works connect intuitively. Their dialogue combined over a century of artistic practices into one word. Finally, here, we can explore both methods emotionally from the direction we are supposed to read them. We are free from the shackles of ar t history. We can interpret everything as we wish. So let it sink in and embrace what is in front of the open. Extend our arms to the world of feelings. Sometimes scary, other times wonderful.
