Clinical Fatigue

Clinical Fatigue is a project informed by the exhibition site of Otto Wagner Clinic which has a long and complex history. Here Sophia took an approach of an anthropological interest to draw connections between different historic events taking place at this site such as an euthanasia research of the 1940 and a forensic psychiatry department that was opened there shortly after. Clinical Fatigue exhibition contains three sculptural pieces that propose a subtle resemblance with elements of a medical furnishing which in their turn references to different forms of clinical treatment. Sculptural assemblage with plaster casts of different body fragments are there to appear as historical artefact of former corporeal presence. This body of work exposes the concealed horror within these walls.
