"Archaic Futures" brings together 8 positions of contemporary art that interrogate art history as their source material: How can this magma of knowledge or images be processed in the present and transported into the future? With a wink and through quotations, the artists engage with history and integrate it into their research, either making it their own or offering a new interpretation. A personal interpretation emerges from these juxtapositions: political, aesthetic, poetic, utopian, futuristic.
