In the exhibition Talsohle — Teil I: Der krumme Rücken (Rock Bottom — Part l: The crooked Back) Jáno Möckel deals with abstract socio-economic processes and how they are reflected through everyday places and objects. He focusses on the so-called stoop-level in supermarkets, which refers to the lowest shelves that require costumers to bend down. Möckel takes the low-cost items one can find in this area and translates them into different materials before arranging them into still lifes, that reflect upon on systematic economic, spatial as well as aesthetic dimensions.
