GROW UP   /   ԱՃԵ

During a trip to southern Armenia, around Meghri, I came to appreciate the tangle of roofs and houses, like so many systematic adaptations to a complex environment, sometimes protecting drying fruit during the scorching summer. Inspired by these fascinating structures, I decided to stage a variety of organic and mineral materials: seeds, small pebbles, arranged on glass plates, floating between the ground and the rest of the space. Awaiting potential growth, these protected elements are also a metaphor for human and/or animal development, as well as for the creative process itself.
