Praxis der Orte II

In 2023, “Praxis der Orte” approached the essence, forces and perspectives of places beyond their function. A selection of non-places were collected with scanners, choreographed in a digital archive and repositioned in a failed shopping mall via projection. The exhibition was accompanied by collaborations with six artistic positions to highlight the different qualities and actions of the locations. The places appeared ambiguous, demarcated themselves, condensed, developed, opened up, had their own times, formed identities, grew in memory, were needed, rejected, ignored, remained invisible, acquired meaning, acted passively, reacted inertly, cooperated blindly, shaped relationships, neglected their functions, abstracted coincidences, were damaged and blocked, disappeared unnoticed, flowed back into the desert or could be reproduced. “Praxis der Orte Zwei” now takes place in June 2025 in the rooms of “Lore Deutz” and forms a stopping point in the analog and digital genesis of the digital archive. The Kunstverein St.Pauli has developed an exhibition architecture that corresponds to the archive, which meets the exhibition space “Lore Deutz”, enters into dialog and invites you to dance. Furthermore, the essence, forces and perspectives of places beyond their function will be explored, and artistic positions will be invited accordingly.
