Samuel Henne – untitled (note to self)

Samuel Henne – untitled (note to self) at ad/ad – Project Space “untitled (note to self)” uses fragmentary text images to explore aspects that oscillate between self-talk, confrontation, mantra, and cautionary plea. Among other things, the work addresses the construction of identity and refers to the idea of the “self as other” as well as questions of perception, reality, and ethos. The “self” in the title as the addressee remains open to interpretation within the image motifs and notes—as an inner monologue, future self, or observing counterpart. Coming from a primarily studio-based practice, Samuel Henne‘s current works, bring him back to a more personal and intuitive artistic process. As a singular series “untitled (note to self)” stems from an overarching work complex “cosmos“ that is ongoing since 2023.
