Imagine a motherboard, its circuits humming with the essential functions of a world we depend on. Suddenly, something falters — a crack, a break in the seamless network of connections. In a system obsessed with speed, growth, and perfection, failure appears catastrophic. And yet, a piece of chewing gum — cheap, humble, temporary, imperfect — is pressed into place, bridging the gap. It is not a permanent solution, but for a moment, it holds.
Chewing Gum in the Motherboard is both metaphor and call to action: a vision of a future where small, human gestures of repair resist the rigidity of dominant systems. It rejects the sterility of the white cube and its exclusionary logics, in favor of a dense, layered space where multiple voices coexist and each fragment contributes to a larger whole.
We remember. The belief that the internet could once decentralize power and enable a global democracy. The fragile hopes invested in crypto as a model for a more equitable economy. The gum invites us to hope differently — not through grand revolutions, but through collective, imperfect acts that persist.
