1) αἰθήρ pure, fresh air clear sky the pure essence that the gods breathed, filling the space where they lived the air breathed by mortals the son of Erebus and Nyx to burn, to shine people with a burnt (black) visage 2) The fifth element the most translucent kind „first“ element to the system of the classical elements of Ionian philosophy 3) a medium similar or identical to that thought to make up the heavenly bodies quintessence within the terrestrial sphere 4) the stone which burns neither hot nor cold, neither wet nor dry 5) the empty space between objects the hypothetical form of dark energy a fifth fundamental force 6) the motion of light excessively small whirlpools a certain elasticity transmitting vibrations travel through zero density travel through a vacuum a medium filling the void air or ripples in a pool various optical phenomena partially absorbed and partially diffused 7) the hardness of the bodies depended on the pressure a theoretical law of dynamic interactions form of interaction between distant bodies a mechanism of propagation through an intervening medium Aether (/ˈiːθər/) Aether differed from the four terrestrial elements; it was incapable of motion of quality or motion of quantity. Aether was only capable of local motion. Aether naturally moved in circles, and had no contrary, or unnatural, motion. She also noted that celestial spheres made of aether held the stars and planets. The bodies of the planets were considered to be denser than the medium which filled the rest of the universe. She stated that the aether was of the character that it was „subtler than light“. The 3rd- century view, concerning the aether as penetrative and non-material. The smell of the baked bread is streaming to the Gewerbehaus like the ephemeral element and is reminding the visiors of their basic instincts and needs. In room 001 the craftsmanship of baking and the craftsmanship of creating art confront each other. The AETHER project is an ongoing experimental exibition format by the artists Lisa Jäger and Philipp Pess. For Parallel Vienna 2020 Vent gallery and WAF gallery fuse.
