Poland 2410 16th December 2410 to 10th February 2411 The Institute of the History of Postmodernism at the University of Chicaco is honored to present the exhibition that is a capstone of archeological research carried out during three expeditions to the terrains of former Poland. One of the finest collection of works of art and relics of the Polish culture came to be as a result of excavation led by professor Monica Wlodartchyk in the years 2381—2387 and 2389—2395 that were continued by professor Kate Lipinski between 2398 and 2405. First two expeditions were to the area of Mazovia Lowland, the last one to the Hel Peninsula. Exhibited artifacts are groundbreaking historical sources for current studies of the Polish culture. We can now look at the mysterious history of Poland in a brand new light. It is history of a country about which most of us only know that it disappeared from the surface of the Earth as a result of one of the biggest political conflicts of all times. The exhibition Poland 2410 offers a panoramic view on Polish culture, painting, craftwork and everyday items, starting with early Slavic times up to the final 21st century. The exhibition is under the patronage of the Polish Research Institute in the USA and the J. Gorecki’s Scientific Society of Polish Culture. _ artist: Julia Woronowicz curator: Małgorzata Król lokal_30, Warsaw 16th December 2022 to 10th February 2023 accompanying artists: Pola Czunikin-Krasowicka · Olka Dąbrowska · Barbara Derleta · Dziursi · Anna Grzymała · Julian Horodyski · Marta Jekiel · Kiju Klejzik · Maria Kniaginin-Ciszewska · Jadwiga Kurek · Planeta Kuz · Szczepan Lewandowski · Antoni Lisowski · Ant Łakomsk · Judyta Majkowska · Mattia · Małgorzata Mycek · Jura Niedziejko · Nati Nadworna · Kaja Niedziela · Doma Pawlik · Olga Perkowska · Agata Piasecka · Pimpek · Maks Plater · Zofia Rybka-Król · Maks Rzontkowski/Bogdan Sėkalski · Borys Szadkowski · Tyna Tokars · Tosia Tosiek ·Baba Yaga · Monika Włodarczyk · Agnieszka Woronowicz · Małgorzata Wrzosek · Anna Ziębińska Poland 2410 is a solo show of Julia Woronowicz’s works, a mockumentary imitation of an ethnographic exhibition. It tells the herstory of Poland seen from the perspective of four centuries that have passed since the present day and made it impossible to differentiate facts from fiction – artworks get confused with archeological artefacts, intuition with reason, truth gets caught up in the mythological narrative. Poland is now inexistent and thus can be reinvented, a task that is taken upon by Polish Americans living in 25th century. Among “archeological” artworks can be found illustrations of polish demonology, portraits of female state representatives and photographs of pagan rituals performed by the secret society of Amazons of the mazovian origins.
