L'utile et l'agréable

L’utile et l’agréable is a continuation of the artist’s research on locations typology tackled through architecture. The exhibition questions the in situ history of the building-the construction of which dates back to 1885-while weaving broader links with such notions as territory and its accessibility. By playing with the constituents of the space, Jeanne Tara arrays it with shapes drawn from even older historical contexts, and overlaps several layers of narrative readings. Through this apparatus, she questions the concept of inheritance : its transmission, its conservation, and the critical view we may set upon it.
