Permanent Concern

To mark the publication of the book Permanent Concern, the delpire & co bookshop is staging an exhibition of prints by Bertrand Cavalier. Bertrand Cavalier's work revolves around the notion of space. Through photography, video and installations, he examines the relationship between man and his environment, particularly in the urban context as it was shaped in the era of modernism. He develops projects that evoke a friction between rational and emotional behaviour, aiming to question our relationship to objectivity and subjectivity. The common thread running through Bertrand Cavalier's artistic thinking is the idea of physical sensation, seen as a capacity to share ideas and thoughts other than through objective, factual information.
