EASTER EGGS is an exhibition of the Düsseldorf based Artist Iris Helena Hamers, where images from consumption sources online, get filtered by the artist in order to build a dream-like cosmogony. As Artificial Intelligence filters images to reinterpret them, here the artist is the human agency to establish a dialog between the AI-generated images, and the self-edited ones in order to present a series of self-standing apparitions. These new objects made of aluminium panels, fur, UV printing technique, video screens, among other materials, show themselves as perpetual images that are an invitation to re-consume the image from their new materiality, both from the visual references, to the haptics that the formal decisions bring into place. A strong affiliation between body meshed presence, screens, nature motives, and fun side creatures, seems to introduce us to new forms of living within the technological realities imprinted in our psyche, and a secret longing for a distant nature. By scrolling and consuming online visuals, as seems to be the new normal, one gives access to its body and forms of dreaming, almost sedating the tips of the fingers and absorbing all kinds of distortions and debris, across the smooth surface of the phone with their rounded sensual edges, that seem so inoffensive and worth our trust, exercising the force of its silent power.
